Nothing like a good yarn

When I was a little girl, my grandmother taught me to knit.
I left off knitting until our daughters were born and then I knit sporadically for a few years.  About 15 years ago, I gave away all my yarn and knitting needles.
And then knitting came back into my life.  I was with a friend at a prayer retreat and we began talking about prayer shawls and how we might start a group at church to knit for others.  The last three years have brought yarn and needles and lots of great moments of knitting.  And best of all, I get to share knitting with our daughters.
My goal this year is to knit 52 make that 24 hats of all sizes for the hat basket at our local food bank.  I am also trying out a little vest pattern for a group that collects wool vests for children in Afghanistan.
On Ravelry I am jpquiltz.
