Gwennie inspired

Here is my little basket for the Gwennie quilt along.  The flowers are not sewn down because I am waiting for the next round.  I wanted my stems and flowers to grow out to the second step (just set my little basket on a piece of fabric for a photo).
We have had a much too warm weekend.  Lots of water has been consumed and evenings spent sitting very still.  Hot weather zaps my energy.
Tomorrow begins the last week of school.  It promises to be filled with all sorts of fun.
Enjoy your week and visit Lori to see how others have begun this Gwennie quilts.

Looks great! So simple and graphic! Can't wait to see how it flows into the next border. What an innovative idea!

Oh, what a great idea to have your center spill into the border. What a cute block!! I think we only have one more day of extreme heat, then it breaks, whew! That was early!

I did have some of that fabric used for your basket....or something similar. I like the idea of having stems come out into the next round.

So clever to have your flowers included in the second row -- it'll be fun to see how you incorporate them into the first border.

That's a fun basket. I think it looks very Gwen-like. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the flowers when you add the first border.
